dynamic partnering

dynamic partnering is a collaborative research module developed by Brianna López and Jonathan Lilly, bringing the naftali method and Synthesis Movement into conversation through partnered improvisation.

Rooted in a shared background in contact improvisation, the module investigates how two distinct movement practices complicate, complement, and reshape one another through shared weight, touch, momentum, and attention. Rather than seeking a unified technique, the work asks how relational movement emerges when different movement histories remain intact as they enter into dialogue.

As the research continues, the module explores questions of responsiveness, support, co-authorship, and the evolving relationship between individual and shared movement languages.

The curriculum and upcoming offerings are currently in development and will be shared as the research continues.
